The story, "The Oath of the Silent Hour" by Rajveer Singh, follows Adrian Vale, a home restorer who encounters a mysterious, closed-off room in a mansion he is renovating. Inside the room, he finds only a chair and a dusty, ticking pocket watch whose gears have rusted shut, along with a portrait of a woman named Amara Vale, a relative he'd never heard of. The watch's ticking haunts him, and he receives a mysterious midnight message telling him to "RETURN WHAT YOUR ANCESTOR STOLE BEFORE THE SILENT HOUR RETURNS". Adrian discovers that an hour of his time has disappeared, with security footage corrupted by a woman's whisper. The town archivist reveals that Amara Vale was at the center of stories about minutes and hours being stolen from townsfolk. The entire town begins to live without shadows, and a long-broken clock tower begins to ring. Adrian finds Amara's journal, which explains that "The Silent Hour is not time... It is hunger" and that she promised her bloodline to keep a bargain, trading memories for minutes. The old watchmaker reveals that the pocket watch is not a watch, but a "gate" to "the hour that wants to be forgotten". Finally, Adrian finds Amara alive in the abandoned clock tower, unchanged since 1901. She explains that one Vale must become the Keeper of the Silent Hour—a guardian over a gap in time where all lost minutes are devoured—or the Silent Hour will "swallow the world". Adrian is given a choice: take the oath and sacrifice his life, or break the chain. The epilogue reveals that shadows returned and time flowed normally the next morning, but a single figure now stood watch in the clock tower at midnight, confirming that Adrian had chosen to become the next Keeper.
